A Comprehensive Foundation in Somatic Practice

60-Hour Experiential Somatics

This immersive program invites you to explore the elemental forces of water, sound, movement, ritual, the nervous system and self-care. Each module offers a rich sensory experience, guiding you toward greater presence, sense of connectivity and felt sense of self. Through movement, breath, sound, and reflection, you will deepen your access to the body’s innate wisdom and capacity for healing, supporting both yourself and others.

This program serves as an excellent entry point for those interested in deepening their knowledge and continuing their education in the field of Somatics. Designed to be accessible to all bodies, this program welcomes therapists, coaches, yoga teachers, healthcare professionals and those that seek to explore somatically for personal growth or continuing education.

Flexible Learning Options
Modules can be taken individually as stand alone experiences or as part of the full 60-hour program. Each module focuses on a key somatic theme and
a process of yoga inquiry. Completing the full program provides a comprehensive somatic foundation and qualifies for continuing education credits with the International Association of Yoga Therapists.

  • Theme: How is our biology a Somatic Resource

    Key Concepts

    • Water as a resource for flow, adaptability, and connection

    • Resonance as a felt sense and vibration within the body

    • Anatomy & Physiology: Understanding interstitial fluid, lymph, and cellular resonance within the somatic body.

    Experiential Practices

    • Fluid Movement Exploration: Follow the natural rhythm of water within your body

    • Continuum Somatic Practice: Movement based

    • Oceanic Breath Practice: Breath techniques to enter states of calm and ease

    • Resonance Practice: Use sound to feel resonance in the tissues

  • Theme: Mantra, Vibration, and the Voice as a Healing Tool

    Key Concepts

    • Sound as a pathway for nervous system regulation

    • The impact of vibration on fascia, muscles, and tissues

    • The power of voice as an internal and external healing tool

    • Yoga & the Mind: Exploration of the power of sound to influence mind states.

    Experiential Practices

    • Vocal Toning: Feel the vibration of your voice resonate within your body

    • Sound Bath Immersion: Receive waves of sound and feel somatic resonance

    • Mantra Practice

  • Theme: Moving with Awareness & Shifting Habits

    • How habitual movement patterns shape our sense of self

    • How small, subtle shifts that can create profound changes

    • Framework for Health & Disease: Introduction to the Kosha’s (5 layers of the human system) as it relates to movement & stagnation

    • Embodied Anatomy: seated somatic meditation

    • Continuum Somatic Practice: Movement based

    • Somatic Movement Inquiry: Follow your body’s natural impulse for movement

    • Facial Unwinding: subtle movements aimed to shift chronic tension patterns

  • Theme: Understanding and Supporting the Nervous System

    Key Concepts

    • The autonomic nervous system (ANS) and its role in safety and regulation

    • Fight, flight, freeze, and the experience of co-regulation

    • Techniques to increase capacity, support calm, and create safety

    Experiential Practices

    • Nervous System Mapping: Track and map your own states of being

    • Titration & Pendulation: Move between activation and calm to increase nervous system capacity

    • Somatic Touch Practice: Use intentional touch to support grounding and safety

    • Co-Regulation Practice: Practice being with others in ways that promote safety and connection

  • Theme: Engaging Fire, Water, Earth, and Air in Somatic Practice

    Key Concepts

    • The four elements (fire, water, earth, air) as resources for growth and transformation

    • Sankalpa: Setting a Clear Intention -Anchoring your practice with purpose and alignment

    • Designing meaningful personal and collective rituals

    • Symbolic movement and intentional action as a form of healing

    Experiential Practices

    • Fire Ritual: Energizing

    • Water Ritual: Cleansing

    • Earth Ritual: Grounding

    • Air Ritual: Rejuvenating

      (Use of breath, movement and sound)

  • Theme: Rituals to promote wellbeing

    Key Concepts

    • Self-care as a sustainable, daily practice

    • How to design personalized somatic self-care rituals to support the holistic human system

    • Self-study. How to recognize your body’s cues for rest, support, and nourishment

    Experiential Practices

    • Self-Care Assessment: Reflect on your current self-care patterns and needs

    • Embodied Ritual Design: Create a self-care plan to sustain yourself through life's demands

    • Daily Integration Practices: Breath, movement, and grounding as daily practice

    • Meditation & Contemplative Practice: Deep rest and embodied stillness

  • This program has been designed to support the Scope of Practice for Yoga Therapy as defined by the International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT). It aligns with the principles of ethical practice, client care, and scope of practice required for IAYT-accredited training.

    This program offers 60 hours of professional development and continuing education for therapists, coaches, yoga teachers, healthcare providers.

Program Flow & Structure
This 60-hour somatic training unfolds over six months, with one 10-hour module each month. Modules are offered in-person.

  • Total Duration: 60 hours over 6 months

  • Class Schedule: Last Sunday of each month, starting January 2025. (Note: The April module will take place on Sunday, April 20th, instead of April 27th.)

  • Location: The Farmhouse at Bloom, 1423 Rutledge Road, South Frontenac, ON

  • Format: In-person. Spaces are limited to 8 participants to foster intimacy and comfort within the group.

Schedule offers a balanced flow of learning, experiential practice, and integration to support an embodied experience.

Pricing & Enrollment

  • Full Course (6 Modules): $250 CAD per module + HST (includes lunch)

  • Drop-In (Single Module): $300 CAD per module + HST (includes lunch)

  • Payment Plans: Available for students who register for 3 or more modules at once.
