Dr. Ron Shore, PhD (Assistant Professor, Department of Psychiatry, Queen’s University) is a psychedelic scientist and certified clinical trial therapist providing consultations both to individuals and to professionals and organizations seeking to improve their skills and competencies in psychedelics and related therapies.
Dr. Shore has developed evidence-informed protocols to disrupt past conditioning and unhealthy habits while encouraging the development of new health behaviours. Protocols prioritize safety and include the use of clinical-grade biofeedback, mindfulness practices, breathwork and supportive functional mushrooms. He works within a Psychedelic Harm Reduction and Integration framework, informed by both modern neuroscience and an understanding of the timeless importance of ritual.
Trained as a death doula (Contemplative End-of-Life Care, Institute of Traditional Medicine), Dr. Shore has significant experience supporting individuals in grief or facing serious illness, advanced disease or end-of-life considerations.
For organization, Dr. Shore is available as a consultant to organizations, clinics and institutes seeking to improve their skill, knowledge and competencies in the provision of mental health care, in developing clinical and program models for psychedelic-assisted therapies, and in the development of evidence-informed protocols and policies which prioritize safety and ensure positive therapeutic outcomes.
For clinicians, Dr. Shore provides advanced education, skills training and oversight in the practice of psychedelic-informed therapies, in the treatment of addiction, PTSD and mental health, and in employing strategies consistent with the science of neuroplasticity and behaviour change.
For individuals, Dr. Shore is available upon request for:
• Assessment, consultation and coordinated care planning
• 12-week evidence-based programs in the treatment of addiction or deep habit
• Personal journeys into mystery, meaning, mindfulness and improved presence
